Lil Wayne’s legal team has sent a cease-and-desist letter to a blog that published clips of a sex tape allegedly featuring the rapper.
According to TMZ, the blog Hollywood Street King has been issued with the ultimatum to remove the video within five days.
The cease-and-desist does not specifically mention a sex tape, though
the video footage posted to the blog supposedly shows Lil Wayne, real
name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, having sex with two girls.
Last month rumours circulated that someone had obtained footage of
Carter and was ‘shopping’ around various sites trying to sell it. The
rapper said he would “sue the hell” out of anyone who leaked it but also
suggested it might not exist.
The letter reads: “We hereby demand that you immediately cease the
use, exploitation and/or distribution of the video and that you deliver
all copies, including electronic copies, of same to us or destroy such
copies immediately and that you desist from this or any other
infringement of Mr. Carter’s rights in the future.”
Carter’s rep told TMZ that he was not aware he was being filmed at the time.
