Since the death of her late husband John Lennon in 1980, Yoko Ono has come fourth and dished out a few secrets about the couples personal life a time or two. This past week, in an interview with The Daily Beast, Ono opened up once again, but this time the secret she spilled was far more personal than the rest. One that involved the possibility that Lennon could have been bisexual.
"No, I don't think so. The beginning of the year he was killed, he said to me, 'I could have done it, but I can't because I just never found somebody that was that attractive.'"
According to Entertainment Tonight, it was rumored in the past that Lennon had potentially had an affair with Beatles manager Brian Epstein. However, Ono went on to dismiss the rumor in the interview, saying: "Well, it was almost a love affair, but not quite. It was never consummated. But it was a pretty intense relationship."
Ono went on to say that her and Lennon both rejected societal views of attraction. When asked by The Daily Beast whether or not she had ever had sex with a woman, she said:
"Well,
that's another thing. John and I had a big talk about it, saying,
basically, all of us must be bisexual. And we were sort of in a
situation of thinking that we're not [bisexual] because of society. So
we are hiding the other side of ourselves, which is less acceptable. But
I don't have a strong sexual desire towards another woman."
In 2011, when Ono dished out that Lennon was a devout Christian and that he had actually voted for Ronald Reagan, we were sure she couldn't shock us all any more. Obviously she proved us wrong yet again!
Only
time will tell whether or not Ono has more interesting personal secrets
stuffed up those petite 82-year-old sleeves of hers.
Obviously though, judging by the video below, Paul McCartney doesn't agree with the rumor that Lennon could potentially be bisexual one bit.
